On a "Fire" signal the alarm system must: start the warning system, shut down general ventilation and air conditioning, start smoke extraction and stair pressurisation, close fire dampers and doors, unlock access-controlled doors on escape routes, bring lifts to the ground floor and start suppression.
All of this is designed as one package. We install the fire alarm, smoke extraction and fire dampers ourselves — so the interfaces work without gaps between contractors.
Practical tips
- Design all the interfaces from the start: ventilation, dampers, access control, lifts, suppression.
- Test the interfaces with a trial activation at every annual service.
- Give the fire alarm and smoke extraction to one contractor to avoid gaps.
